We have lots of APS cassettes, should these be kept for future prints. Nowadays its easy to take a copy from prints,
if we dispose of them it would free up a lot of space.

What are the thoughts on this.

The quality you'll get from a scan from the negative would be better than one from the print.

I do know someone that could scan them for you if you put a wanted ad in the classifieds

Well it depends on what is on the cassettes and the size of your prints and if they are on fade proof paper. If they are all excellent say A4 prints then scan them now as if you throw the cassettes away and only have small prints and want a larger print in the future, then enlarging a small print to a larger size would be poor quality compared to scanning the neg. I have 35mm colour negs (in strips) going back over 50 years, stored at room temp, and they have faded slightly but still give a good print when scanned.

how many have you got ? shirley , they cant take up that much space

You can easily take them out of the cassettes and sleeve them as usual in 35mm sleeves.

I use an APS film pot to store the dressing when I take a salad to work for lunch. Keeps the leaves from wilting due to the vinegar. I also used to use one to hold my earplugs, which I wear when riding a motorbike. That eventually broke so now I use the prize pot from a Kinder egg.

Now, what are we all talking about?
