Been offer an Apple Mac Pro i7 500gb drive 4gb ram 17ins screen £699 is that priced well, come with an 60 day g/tee.

:)

What i7 exactly ? there have been 4 different i7's and 4 different architectures, obviously the oldest being vastly slower than the latest one, comparatively speaking.

Hi its the 2011 model macbook, but the really big thing is the screen got an acer laptop and the display not great for viewing photos, but i do like the display on the mac.

:)

Unless the hard drive has been replaced at some point, this spec suggests it is likely to be a mid-2010 model, rather than any of the two 2011 ranges. 2010 models came with a 500GB drive in the base configuration and 2011 models 750GB.

The easy way to tell is if the machine supports Thunderbolt. If it does, then it is a 2011 model and not a 2010.

The likelihood is that it is a 2010 model that was actually sold to the original purchaser in 2011, before, or after the new models surfaced.

One other thing to note is that 2011 models can take up to 16 GB of RAM, whereas 2010 models only accept 8 GB.

Nonetheless, £700 seems pretty reasonable for one in good condition (even a 2010 model). I would probably snap it up, as if you are set on a 17" screen, I don't think that you'll find too many on the market at that price.

If you do get it, you might want to consider fitting an SSD drive and 8 GB of RAM (or 16 GB if it is a 2011 model). You'll have a pretty capable machine which should zip along.

Mac-M thanks for the reply, going to have a look again tomorrow,i think it does have Thunderbolt because they had a Thunderbolt HD to sell as well, but does seem odd about the 500gb hard drive.

:)

In that case, it sounds like it may have the 512GB SSD option. Even more of a bargain if that's the case :-)

Can they not do a screenshot of the 'about this mac' or pinch the serial number as that will confirm the spec etc :)

Turn out to be an early 2011 15.4 has thunderbolt 500gb HD 4gb of ram,but still looking around still not a bad price, its in nice con just few marks on the shell.

Plus they will sell me the 4TB drive thunderbolt £190,and both come with a 60 days g/tee

:)
