apple image editing software

My Dad called this morning and said he'd been to the apple store and saw some image editing software that was "brilliant". He said it was selling for circa 140.00 and automated a lot of tasks. I'm curious as to what it might have been, and he couldn't remember (must have been impressive :D)

Can anyone shed any light on what it might be?
 
Could it be Aperture 2 £129 online here
 
Have heard back from him. Yes, that's the one, thanks! Doesn't look too different from Lightroom tbh. Has anyone compared or used both?

I had both installed for a while, and finally uninstalled lightroom as I prefer Aperture and everything it does for me in my workflow. Some people will prefer Lightroom it will be totally down to how you work and getting the software to fit in with your workflow.

But saying that I rate it very highly.

Cheers for that Shutterman. I personally rarely use Lightroom now. Most of my workflow is semi automated and works for me. I keep meaning to check out Lightroom v2.
 
I must say I very much prefer Aperture than Lightroom. I just could not get the hang of Lightroom. I really find Aperture more better and easier and better to use.. My 2pence worth
