Edit My Images
No
i put my sd card into my macbook pro with my j pegs and it downloads them no problem

but when i put the card in with my raw images it says it cannot read them as my raw reader does not support the camera

its a new d7200 first time i have viewed images from camera

how can i update its raw reader ??

also have elements 12 installed and it says the same

thanks

why would i need a new lens for my pic editor ??

What programme on your mac are you using to try and view the raws?have you updated your mac,the photos app on my mac reads the raw d7200 files no problem

The XT1 has been with us a since early 2014, 3.6 update to aperture was later in 2014. Not that this helps the OP :)

I did consider sticking aperture on a seperate bootable drive with an older op sys but thought its too much effort once i had done it and deleted it,times move on

im using os x version 10.9.5
i also tried the files in my elements 12 and its the same unable to read files
hopefully i can update elements 12 !!!!!

Aperture 3 supports the D7200 provided you are running OS X Yosemite (10.10.x) or later, so that will be the issue if you're still on 10.9.x

RAW support is shared with the current Photos app, so the supported list should match.

For Elements, you will probably need to upgrade or get something to convert .NEF to .DNG.

Just wondering wether to put aperture back on my mac to use wth 7200 versus take out 12 months cc adobe, any thoughts anyone,

I faced this when I bought a new canon 80D earlier this year ,I moved to Lightroom and ps cc package ,and yes it's a good move ,but I do miss aperture sometimes,I cannot fathom apples descion to no longer upgrade it as they sold there I.macs to a lot of photographers based on easy processing with aperture ,the new photos program is just a bloody nuisance

Like had to go lightroom and ps cc. Aperture was really good sad loss

Me neither. I am hoping they change course and develop a Aperture 4 thats better than LR

I can't believe they stopped using Aprture TBH! I thought it was a fantastic program, and definitely far better than Photos. I tend to still use Aperture, for more serious editing, and then export the image edited to Photos.. Not ideal but hey

I used Aperture for a few years. When Adobe went over to Creative Cloud, I jumped on to LightRoom as I use some of the other apps on a day to day basis. Familiarity with the Adobe suite made the jump quite simple, although Aperture definitely felt faster for some tasks.

I did the same. Used to really enjoy aperture. Everything worked well and it didn't have as many frustrating little things that LR has. That said, LR has moved on a lot since I last used aperure. There are some great tools on there now. Shame Apple abandoned development.
