Hi All

Just a quick question.

If I am viewing an edited photo on my laptop and it looks good (to me) IQ wise, upload it to flickr then copy the link into a post on TP, is the quality of the presentation different???

To me the posted pic on here doesn't look as sharp? or am I imagining it

Do I need to go to specsavers?

:ROFLMAO:

Flickr will probably re-compress the file. The forum may be resizing the preview (sometimes you have to click the image to view it full resolution).

If you have uploaded a large resolution image to Flickr, viewing the smaller versions my look softer, yes. If you are uploading to Flickr just to display on forums, then upload it at a suitable size. Resize the image to be uploaded to a suitable resolution (say 1200 pixels across), do any sharpening required at this resolution, then upload it to Flickr. That should give better results.

I find flickr's smaller versions can sometimes look over-sharpened now.
But if your original uploaded version looks as it it should when hotlinked.
So I think it's better to upload a reduced version at the size you want to show
