Hi,
Has anyone got any quick tips on how to blur/blank out car reg plates in Aperture? Would rather not have to resort to using an external editor if possible.

Thanks.

Use the spot and patch tool or the clone tool ?

Cheers, was just making sure I didn't miss any other easier methods :D
Worked a treat.

I have never understood why people do this. They are in full view in public places. I think pictures with obscured plates look wrong.

It helps stop vehicle cloning.

I can walk down my high street and get a Ford Focus reg number. If I used it to clone a car and drive about in the same area, it wouldn't be long before it was spotted.

Whereas, if you post a pic of a Ford Focus with number intact, I can use that number to clone the car and as you are in Isle of Wight the chances of the two cars meeting are very slim.

All that info and never even left the house, the joys of t'internet.

I had to do a garage shoot the other day for a website, one of the main reasons you have to obscure is because of the data protection act. Rather than obscure though, I just cloned a couple of the letters and numbers and swapped them about a bit.
