anything i can do with this sky

You could crop most of it out - that would impove the pic no end. Did you shoot in raw?

You'd have more WB options if you shot raw - but I think this sky is too blown to recover much - I'd crop it though. It would get her eyes in a more prominent position in the frame and make a stronger composition. In future you could use some fill - either a reflector or a touch of flash.

EDIT,

Grad filter added in PS5 and cropped as suggested above.

I know the best option here is to put in the new sky but if you shoot again like this...expose for the sky but use some fill flash for the portrait...you won't need a lot and this it will save you time in editing.

thanks for the tips all, i just need to learn to do it myself. have downloaded lightroom 3 free trial but havent a clue what im doing with it lol

F1 in Lightroom is your friend - very helpful
It will take time - you can't expect to be an expert in a weekend. You have to work at it.

If you have not installed it yet take a few days to go through the various online tutorials - this will give you a bit of familarity with it before you start to make the most of the trial period.

Great advice. Take your time and learn it properly - well worth the effort.
