Looking at getting a bank acct opened for my son. Never been with Lloyds so no ideas how good/bad the app is?

I am with Barclays which is excellent, Nationwide which is pretty good and have used others like Co-Op (average at best) and a few years ago Nat West (poor) and HSBC (bloody awful).

Been with Lloyds a year now. I think their app is great. Very flexible, allows you to see all accts incl savings/isas etc.
Scroll back month by month. See pending transactions as well. You can also pay cheques in on it.
Their savings interest rates are pants , but aren't they all. We moved after 30+ years natwest. Glad we did.

Ps my lad is with Monzo. The bank was built by app developers and it shows. The flexibility and functionality in their app is amazing. All his mates in london are on it and they have the brightest fluorescent cards possible.

I've been with Lloyds for some years, I keep thinking of changing but don't find anything noticeable better. I like the app - like you, I hate the HSBC business banking app, I used to use Barclays' app and found it a bit clunky too. Clydesdale app is ok but limited in functionality and usability.

With Lloyds for many years but no app or even internet banking.

Been with Santander for a few years. Never had an issue plus I get 1.5% interest. More than what I get on my ISA.

I'm with Lloyds but bank in a web browser on my desktop. Does the app add anything that I can't do on a PC with a proper keyboard?

Halifax app is very good. I have a Lloyd’s account too but doesn’t use it really.

Another thing to look at is on line banks. I also have an account with Starling.

Oh well, opening one up with Lloyds in the morning. Have to saw, how bloody difficult can they make it to open up a kids bank account!!!

I've been with Lloyds for majority of my banking needs for many years: joint current account for cash withdraw, reward credit card for spending, and Club Lloyds for free cinema tickets.
I'm using their "choice reward" Amex credit card that gives me £10-20 Amazon voucher every month (1.5% voucher). Unfortunately this is going away due to changes to Amex, it is to be replaced with a 1% cashback MasterCard for next 5 years. I see for non-Amex cards, it's a still very good deal. So I've got 5 more years before needing to find a replacement.

Their app works well, but a bit slow.
Their website is always straight forward.
Apart from initial account opening and credit card application many years ago, I've not set foot in their branch.
I've no complaints. Similar experience to all other traditional bank really, same as my Barclays, Santander, HSBC and Nationwide.
