I’ve heard that people used to play chess by means of pen-pal letters, sending each other chess moves, those codes like Nf3, Be5, Rxa4, etc.,

With the lockdown and the boredom, I was wondering if there is anyone who gets bored of staying indoors, and would like to play a game of chess? We could play by exchanging message in our Talk Photography Inboxes.

I’m an average player (but still beginner with the chess move codes), and would like to play against someone who’s average player too.

It's not a bad idea but how can you be sure that your opponent doesn't have a high end chess program running? :naughty:

I agree with you, but what can we do? Either you sit on the sofa and do nothing all day, or just find something to do.

Even if you can never be sure if the opponent is cheating or honourable, it is better than nothing. After all, I could have, if I wanted to do so, download and install one of those chess apps, and play against the computer myself. So even if someone is cheating by using an app, I may as well treat it like I'm playing against the computer.

You can’t. You need trust like in most thing.

OP. Great idea. Ill play if you get something going and the 9hr time difference isn’t too frustrating

For the erasure of doubt, the last part of my posting was intended to be humorous; the icon being a clue... :bat:
