Anyone wanting a cracking 4TB NVME Samsung worth a look :-)

Thanks for heads up.

That looks like a cracking price (also on Currys site at a tad more.

Should make a good external drive in suitable case.

Tempted buy don't need it right now.............................................:thinking::thinking:

Ah! C'est la vie

@Mr Bump

I have just checked the Currys site and they still showed it for £196.99

Frankly, ummmed & errrred a bit and hit the buy button...................on the basis of the £50 off saving as future proofing my expenditure as memory will only rise in price.

I just need to get the external case....possibly a Sabrent. My initial use will likely be to backup my PC to it.

I have one Sabrent already which I used to clone & copy stuff with my last build in 2023.
This one I want to keep purely as an external drive. I have USB 3.2 ports as well as USB2

Oh, the one I ordered was showing as only '1 in stock' at my local Currys and another store over 30 miles away also showed only 1 in stock.

Why would anyone buy this over the 990 pro?

Surely the performance benefits gazump that?
Possibly depending on usage... .

As, on this occasion, I intend to use it in an external case plugged into a USB port power demand is important plus in an external case it is IMO good to run cooler if possible.

If I were to be aiming to put it onboard in my PC then with a regular finned heatsink I would not be fussed about the additional heat nor the increased power demands.

There is barely any difference heat.

Anyway the 990 pro was available on Amazon and Samsungs website for just under £200 yesterday but has now went back up in price. Will probably drop again somewhere before Black Friday.

got mine and boy its skinny.

I bought a 2TB one to add to my NAS., no problems so far and runs cool.
