Yes
I’m on the free 7 day trial at the moment to see if I like it. So far it seems pretty good. I have the Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop subscription currently, but also have Affinity Photo that I purchased a few months back when it was 50% off. This was with a long term view of cutting the Adobe cord. I’d have to work out a new preferred cataloging workflow if I got rid of Lightroom, but I’m definitely edging towards leaving Adobe.

I purchased it some time back, tried to use it a couple of times, it crashed a couple of times, and when I did get it to work, I tried exporting one edited file, and it was taking forever, I gave up and closed it down in the end, I should really contact customer service, because really it's crap, unless it's me. My PC is quite high spec, i7 processor, 32gb memory and 3gb of SSD drives, so I'm fairly sure it's not that, if anyone else has had similar problems, I would be interested to hear.

Ahh ok, that’s interesting. I did wonder if it would be ok on mine, but it does appear to be so far. I’ve just been using it on an 8GB M1 MacBook Pro.

In that case I would hope it's not my PC then, obviously there is something else going on, or more to the point not going on

Same to what TG. said: I had it, it crashed several times but I didn't get it to work and just forgot about it. I was on the free trial back then, it was probably too harsh for my old laptop, so it never really worked to me. For a slower computer I suggest trying Photoworks, here is an article about it by Fstoppers. I haven't tried ACDsee myself but have seen a bunch of good reviews on that one, too.

I had it on my very powerful PC (with 32GB RAM) and hated it, so so slow and kept crashing, regretted my purchase! Single edits were a chore let alone processing a whole load of photos.

Moved to Apple and now just have an 8GB Macbook Air and the difference is night and day, no crashes and comfortably fast enough to allow me to work through a shoot with no drama.

I still use Lightroom for weddings and motorsport, but I really like Luminar AI for landscape, macro and general day to day stuff.

I use "Luminar AI" occasionally on my 15" MacBook Pro (2018 model) with an A9 processor & 16gb Ram and it's superb. No problems whatsoever, it absolutely flies through any PP that I throw at it, including huge files from my medium format GFX units.

It's very strange, will work on an 8gb ram laptop, but not a 32gb PC, which is pretty much, what happened to me, although I don't have a laptop. There is obviously something more to this.

The M1 does seem incredibly well optimised, it's not the only software I have that runs better compared to my old PC, which on paper laughed in the face of my Air.

Well, that’s it. Adobe no longer resides on my MacBook Pro…no more subscription

ive been impressed with Luminar and will now just use that and Affinity Photo, which I also have grown to really like.
