As the title really, read about them in Digital Photographer, visited the web site and they seem to sell 11" x 8" (300dpi) shots for £35 + VAT which then gets split 50/50 between you and them.

Before I sign up, thought I'd as if anyone has used them before?

Thanks

Jason

Do people really value their own work at as little as £17.50 + vat ?.

I reckon this one is always a tricky one.

Some say all the time and effort they put into a shot is worth more than that, to others, £17.50 + VAT is better in their pocket than someone elses. And if you get a good picture that sells and sells those £17.50's add up.

Personally, I'd take it !! But that's just my opinion. Not sure what the rules are on copyright and ownership with Bytestock? Perhaps someone can inform us ? After all, if you have a photo sitting around doing nowt, if it can make you £17.50 then why not?

Is it possible to submit the photo's to several libraries?

If you can then it may be lots of £17.50's across many agencies.

Do you pay a fee for any of these?

Thanks

Allan

No fees for these sites, only pain is most of them are American sites where you get paid in $ and with the exchange rate is a killer at the mo :shake:

www.photographersdirect.com very small commision charged and free, you can upload online and they even send you picture buyers requests so you can go out and shoot what people are actually looking for.
Just sold a very boring picture of meadowhall for £85.00 single use 1/4 page inside educational textbook with a 2000 print run.

I've been with these for a few months now, not sold anything as yet but then I only have about 20 shots uploaded. Easy site to use and if you upload some unusual photos then you are better off at getting a sale.
