I'm a bit stuck, all of a sudden my clone tool has stopped working, nothing happens when using it, same as the dodge and burn functions.

All the settings are the same as usual, and I can't seem to find anything on the WWW, any idea's ?

have you tried reloading your workspace? Youshould save your own workspace...File...workspace after you have set it up how you want to use it then when something loopy happens you can just go back to file...workspace and reload your own. Might help. Have you checked you haven't got the Opacity turned down?
 
yes i do but this has never happened to me, you could possibly try going - file - preferences - reset preferences - and tick the box reset workspace to default configuration that might work ??? maby
 
This happens with the clone tool, the dodge and burn tools, and quite a lot of others when you're working on an image of less than 24 bit colour depth, although you usually get a warning that the image is less than 24 bit when you try to use one of these tools.

Try increasing the colour depth to at least 24 bit. Even though the image wont look any different if (for instance) it's a mono or greyscale image, you should find the tools work OK.
 
The other possibilty is that you have a mask applied to the image with a hidden marquee and you're trying to clone outside the mask. It can drive you nuts that one before you realise what's happening.:D
 
Cheers guys, your life-savers. I reset the workspace and it worked, just got to put everything back in its place now, lol .... Saved my workspace too, ta.

Had to get this out by tonight, thanks to you guys, deadline met.
