Anyone use a Rollator?

I suffer pretty badly with aching legs and as a result can't walk as much as I would like. Thought it might be an idea to try a rollator which could carry my camera bag and also
has the added advantage of having a seat should I need a rest.

Any cons?

As it happens, I don't BUT... We bought the MiL one recently and she loves it. After talking to a couple of users and a specialist shop owner, we went for a 4 wheel one for stability. Trying the options in the shop made the extra tenner the thing cost us over internet prices was worth every penny (and I couldn't find the exact same model online anyway). Both rear wheels are braked so downhill isn't a problem and they work well as a "handbrake" when sitting.
She's had it a couple of weeks but not had anyone to accompany her while she gets used to it until today. She was fairly determined NOT to have one but is now really glad she has been pushed (gently!) into it.

It sounds like it would be perfect for you Al.

The beauty of them is that you can take them almost anywhere and most will fold up so you can take them in your car or on a bus/train too.

I only use frames now (without a seat) to transfer between wheelchairs and bed/shower/toilet and I keep one in each room of the flat for just this purpose.

The downside of them (the same as sticks) is that you may start to suffer with wrist/elbow/shoulder pain due to weight bearing on your arms instead of your legs.

I'd recommend you try one as they can give great relief. Like mobility scooters, you can easily carry kit too. Wheelchairs are crap in this respect.

Lastly, be sure to get one with lockable brakes.
