My Victorian built cottage can get a bit humid at times, no damp courses back then.
Just wonder if a dry cabinet might be a good idea for cameras and lenses?

Don't seem to have problems with lens fungus, all stored in a holdall type shoulder bag then inside a wooden cupboard. I leave a few silica gel bags dotted here and there inside it too for extra protection.

Anyone else use a dry cabinet, do you think its a good idea?

Thanks

If the silica gel is inside the hold-all that might do it but otherwise “inside a bag and inside a cupboard” is probably a good habitat for mushrooms. Probably better out in a shelf. I think air circulation is the main enemy of fungus.

You could use a dehumidifier in the room but they are tedious to empty unless you can vent the water somewhere.

I’ve no experience of dry cabinets but obviously they work.
