Anyone tried a Calumet training course?

So I was clearing out my e-mails the other day and had a generic marketing one from Calumet thanks to buying some previous products from them and right before I deleted it I decided to click out of interest when I read the word fashion, as I have some photoshoot ideas that I want to work on that are geared towards fashion. What I found was a bunch of 1/2 day courses around the UK that offer hands on training and experience with pro's. Before I hand over my hard earned cash to any of them, has anyone been on any before and if so how did you find them? The ones of particular interest to me are working with off camera flash, the advanced studio lighting one, and the fashion photography one. I asked in store about the photoshop day course the sometimes offer and was told it was only a lecture / demo - there were no laptops to use to participate!

I did a speedlight one in Manchester, no practical just a lecture and the info could probably have been learnt by reading the manuals for camera and flash guns maybe a couple of books but to see and hear it from someone was far better than reading about it in books.
