Yes
As above really. How is it going? How is the print quality for colour and especially B&W? What paper works well with it? Any 3rd party inks/ refillable cartridges that work well?

The Canon Pixma Pro 100 Printer is the successor to the popular Canon Pro 9000 MkII
it is as the 9000MKII which I have but With Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity.
I have a CISs on mine and use permaJet and innovart papers, for profiles I make my own with the colormunki great prints are had.

It is a bit more than a 9000mkII with wifi etc as far as I can see. The most interesting bit for me is the 3 cartridges for printing B&W (Black, grey and light grey) that give a big upgrade from the single cartridge in the 9000. It is about the cheapest printer available that gives you this option that will greatly improve B&W prints.

I'm thinking of ordering one of these. I was looking at the PIXMA Pro 9000 mark II second hand, but them selling for around £200 and the current Canon cash back offer I could get a Pro 100 for £110 more.

Looking at the reviews it is better at monochrome prints however it doesn't print well on matte papers apparently.

Watching an unboxing video on YouTube gave me a sense of the scale of the thing, it's huge! Not sure I'll be able to keep our out all the time.

As a photo printing newbie, I'd like some paper advice too!

Well I bought one of these last week with some Ilford Gallerie Prestige smooth pearl paper. The paper is a semi-gloss and I've been very impressed with the output so far although I've only printed two shots.

I've installed the Ilford ICC profile for the paper and printer combo, but I couldn't figure out how to use the profile with the Canon printing app. I might have more success with Photoshop.

Thanks Dan! Please keep us up to date with your progress, especially if you do use any matte paper. I will hopefully get one before the cashback offer ends...

Just a quick bump, the urge for a good printer at home is calling to me again...

Take a look at the Printers and Printing Forum at www.dpreview.com as there has been a lot of posts regarding this printer, new firmware issues and colour casting to B&W prints

Thanks Dave. I look in there every so often but can't bear it any more frequently because of the attitude of the users!

I also managed to miss the cash back on the printer anyway so will hold out a little longer. ;)
