Mods, sorry if this is in the wrong section. Does anyone repair or replace hotshoes on 50d's? mine is broken and thinks it has a flash attached but wont fire it unless you twist it really hard in the hotshoe. The flash is fine on other cameras. I messed about with the hotshoe so it's either a loose connection or something. Would've tried it myself if i had the tools. Thanks in advance:bonk:

Have you checked to see the wee pin isn't just stuck down? That's usually what gives that error and it's a quick diy fix......

The pin was stuck down, tried to get it to come out but sounded like a spring snapping noise and that was it.

These are Nikon and Canon approved repairers may be worth giving them a ring for an estimated cost of repair they are base in Stoke on Trent

Camtronics in Letchworth might also be able to help

Thanks. Ended up sending it to hitech crs in the end. They were the cheapest quote and my local Calumet's official repairers.
