Yes
well i've gone and done it and signed up for my city and guilds course, so about to embark on that.

I've decided i'm going to try and vary my portfolio between Digital (which i currently shoot 100% of my shots in) and Film so i'm looking for suggestions as to which Canon Film Camera to go for.

My lenses are all EF (i got shot of the EF-S kit lens) so going for a Canon EOS camera seems the best bet. I'm currently thinking that maybe something like a Canon EOS 500(N) is a good safe bet, won't set me back much on ebay and will be compatible with all my other bits and bobs, anyone have any other suggestions or advice on this.

With thinking of film again i've also decided i'm gonna go for it and invest in a highly expensive Holga to have a play with.

Surely i'm not the only one wanting to play with film again?

EOS600's are available for about £30! That has got to be a bargain!

EOS 1, 3, or 5.

There are plenty of others that will do a great job but given the almost non existant value of film gear, you might as well buy in at the top.

There is certainly no way you'd be dissapointed with any of those three.

I've got a 3 and love it. But if you don't want to spend that much, a 300 or 30 is a good compromise. 30 is a good camera with similar UI to the 10/20/30D models.

I've just completed the first year of an A level photography course - all film based. Hard work, but I loved it. Can't help you with Canon as I have Nikon. 7 day shop do cheap Ilford B&W film!

Stil got my Ricoh XR-X and lenses somewhere in the loft. loved it to bits and got it cos at the time it was 'Canon This' and 'Canon That', 'Nikon This' and 'Nikon That' (nothing changes eh!! :D), and i wanted something a little different.

Still like that today, thats whay i ended up on a Olympus 4/3 system.

i looked at the olympus system and liked most of the things about it apart from the camera size. I'm a bit of a big lad with hands the size of shovels so they felt a little tiny and unfortable, apart from the E-1 which was a viable possibility. In the end i jumped for Canon though :D

don't you just love 7 day shop, their film prices are great, especially for 120 roll etc, seriously tempted to get myself a Holga for some 120 fun :D

No recommendations - sorry. I'm currently buying up old classic film cameras for peanuts. Bargains to be had for £1 if you look carefully. The following shot was taken on a 1967 Zeiss Ikon Icarex 35. Absolutely mint. Like brand new, straight from the factory with original packaging and manuals, Weston III meter, case, original voigtlander lens hood, 60's camera bag etc for just £30 :)

I've just recently bought an Olympus E410 which is great then I was looking in a photography shop window today and they had an Olympus OM 10. I lusted after one when I was a student but it just nether happened at the time. I am tempted to get the OM 10 and compare the results to those of the E410.
