Yes
I bought one in May this year and am steadily gaining progress!

I play Bass and was recently gifted a classic guitar, getting into it but I'm struggling with the precision needed to not thwack several strings or mute them accidentally going for chords.

Badly! Fat fingers and reduced mobility in them means I use an open (slide) tuning (to E major) and barre chords. Used to play bass but the finger problem has made that difficult too. :(

I would love to. Bought one in the late 90s and learnt a few chords, but sadly was born without a musical bone in my body! Part of it is trying to remember what to play... how to people do that???

I started playing in 1974, when I was at school, then played in various bands mostly playing covers of popular rock - Stones, Beatles, Eagles, etc. I never learned to read music, but used to convert from music to guitar tableture. Don't play so much now, but have a Clarissa electro acoustic, Yamaha Pacifica electric (bought in 1993) and a Squier Strat bought off Ebay in 2010 for £40. The Yamaha plays really nicely, but the Strat isn't that far behind, because it has a good action and a maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, a combination I really like.

Muscle memory. ;) Play a song often enough and your fingers remember where to go.

I’ve played for fifty years, I’m still only “competent” rather than “great” but I enjoy playing. I was in a couple of bands donkeys years ago but just play at home nowadays. Got a man cave full of guitars and music gear, it’s almost more addictive/expensive than photography. :D

A little.

Been playing since I was 16, when I bought a slightly 'challenging' Eko acoustic guitar, the sheet music to the Stones Miss You and a chord book. "right, C, that finger goes there, that one there and those two there, strum, strum, strum, strum. OK, now Dm, that finger there, that one there and that one in between just there, strum, strum, strum, strum."

Presently play acoustic slide with Gospel Bell, rehearsing with a couple of friends with a view to a rock and blues band, and I've been playing in church for about 40 years. Currently have a few guitars and basses, bunch of amps (some I designed and built myself) a couple of pedal boards and a Roland guitar synth unit.

The thing about someone entering the room - that's also me. I can play on stage fine, with the largest audience around 1000 people, when It's just me in a room I can be very self conscious.

I was raised in “Nashville TN” ( Music City USA) so like most other guys from those parts I’ve been playing since I was a kid and still like to jam with old buddies downtown when I get to visit my old haunts.(y)

George.

Does Air guitar count?

Only if you hit the right notes and make the correct chord shapes:)

Notes, chords, clearly this thread is not for me, I'm out.
