Just bought this tripod really cheap second hand and its absolutely brilliant!

Goes from less than 1ft compact

to nearly 6ft full out!

Was trying to research the company but couldn't find anything.

The model is a guardsman GS 232

But I just can't find any details on the company at all!

Anyone help me out?

I've got one that looks similar to that (not sure of the maker's name, I'd need to dig it out and have a look),but I get the feeling they are for a video camera, rather than a stills one. Be careful winding the centre column up on it, if it's anything like mine the gears can be come jammed and then it won't wind back down again......

You might find it it is not steady enough with the centre column extended, but if you are happy it that is all that matters:)

Looks a bit like the old Velbon tripods, I think they were called Black Diamond or something.

This is very sturdy and strong, supported my D60 camera, a 500mm lens! (borrowed unfortunately) and my bearded dragon when he decided to climb on it too
