I've recently been having some troubles with my Tamron 70-200 f2.8 and its focusing. The focus ring started to get really stiff at closer ranges and it got so bad that the motor wasn't powerful enough to shift it. I rang up Warehouse Express who I bought it from and they sent a courier to pick it up for warranty repair. It's now with Tamron but they've got no idea how long it'll be... could be anything up to 5-6 weeks apparently. Has anyone had any dealings with Tamron or with a similar issue and thus knows how long it's likely to take to fix? I'm stuck at 150mm manually focusing at football until it comes back :(

I have stuff into Intro 2020 (Tamrons uk distributor) before for recalibration and it's been back within 1 week. The quickest turnaround i've had is 3 days  and thats including postage both ways!

However i dealt direct with Intro2020 rather than the shop i bought it from.

:agree:

I have used Intro2020 acouple of times, fast turnaraound and reasonable prices too. I think they guarantee all repairs for 6 months too.

That's a bit of a relief then! I was getting worried I'd be without it for weeks.

It should only take an extra day once it's fixed to get it back to me, I've got nothing but praise for the quality and speed of Warehouse Express' customer service.

Intro2002 have had my impact damaged Tamron 24-135mm for nearly 6 months now.:shake:

 Have they not given you an explanation why?

Yes, when I sent it in for repair they gave me a quote to which I agreed. They said the parts were available initially but when they ordered them it turned out some were not. The parts finally arrived and they then found out that the lens was too badly damaged and unrepairable.

To give then their due they haven't charged me and when I phoned 2 weeks ago they said that as it was their fault they would send me a brand new lens.

Problem with this is that the lens is no longer made and quite rare in Pentax mount. The engineer said if it was Canon or Nikon then it would be easy enough to get one.

I am actually thinking of getting a 7D so may well see if they will send me a Canon mount instead.
