Anyone Got/Had A Lowepro Microtrekker or Tamrac Expedition 3/4 ?

I want a backpack that is ok for flights, Im not going hiking so don't want the faff of a waist strap getting in the way. For now I'm carrying a 450D, kit lens, 50mm and 55-250 - obviously a little extra space is always good news. I want to store the rest of the stuff (filters/cards/charger) in it too when its not all in use. Don't need to carry a laptop.

Anyone had any of the above or got another suggestion ?
 
I have a Tamrac expedition 7 which will be too big to take on as hand baggage but it is an excellent sac and I am sure the 3 or 4 would do a fine job.
