As the title really

If so........how the :annoyed: :annoyed: do you get it to go online?

It's made voice calls, sent texts but I can't get it to go online for surfing, itunes and maps etc.

The manual says if no wi-fi signal it will use edge or gprs via O2 but i'm not even getting that.
It asks for the password which I type in and then a tick pops up against the network name.....but still nothing :bang:

I would have thought it'd be in the manual. Apple are known for easy of use. Um... I'm assuming it has all the o2 settings for Edge as they're the only ones supplying it.

I can't even get it to connect to MY router :(

I can get google earth and internet on gprs now, but you need to leave it trying to access the net for 10 mins before it gives up looking for wifi and edge :(

You don't get a manual with it, you get a link to the online user manual.....thats now camping out in my documents.

The phone is stunning and very easy to use, itunes is a problem though, but thats another topic :D

You weren't one of those on telly queuing at 2.30 in the morning just to get your hands on the latest gismo were you Brian.

I really want an iPhone but don't want it without 3g and am cant really justify the cost of one. Mebbe the next gen one.

Have you read this? http://preview.SPAM/33v2cz

I would have had one by now but I spent the money on Christmas! Anyway I plan to get one in January instead

No I wasn't one of the nutters standing in the rain for it, I only got it today in a fit of boredom, as there wasn't an awful lot wrong with my N73.

I wanted new headphones for my ipod mini, I needed a new mains charger for the N73 and I was kind of getting bored of using 3 devices. I used an ipaq for email as the screen was bigger than the nokia.
The iphone does all 3 jobs now, and the ipod side of it is excellent with the scroll through art work :D

I should also say I've sorted the wifi bit too, it didn't like the WEP key being used, so I've made a new WEP on the router and logged in all the devices in one session and it's ok. Google earth and maps are pretty funky on the widescreen.

No good to me I suffer from technophobia :( football over, now to try and get my head round the 40D:thinking:

Was this an upgrade or a new contract DF.

How much are these when you already have a contract with o2..

Tim

At the moment it's £269 if your already an O2 customer prior to september. If you joined O2 after then, and are upgrading there's another 215 to pay......not that they tell you that until your at home registering it :(

I was overdue an upgrade, but the fee still stood.....even the threat of going to orange couldn't change their minds.

£35 inc vat is the lowest monthly tariff, but thats got almost unlimited data. :D

I'll stick with Sony Ericsson to avoid metrosexuality and save myself a packet at the same time.

In a way I'm glad it's not available on t-mobile in this country otherwise I'd be tempted. More than that, I'd probably have got one by now.

I'll stick to my blackberry for now for 20 a month with free emails and browsing anywhere in the world.

2blue's got the right idea ;)

I hear you can't bluetooth pictures on the iPhone either? Nor set your ipod music as your ringtones. Is this true?

no that's not completly true.

An update to iTunes in September allows custom ring tones, you can even decide which part of the track you want.

Re the Bluetooth, the girl In the shop said it was voice only under the v1 standard, but the device says it's v2.......I'll get round to checking at some point.

:)

For now, I'll just email pics
