What are your impressions? Id like to hear from ex D2X owners who have now got a D300+Batterygrip if possible. I want to know how different the ergonomics are. I was origionally going to get a second hand D2X, but after thinking about it for a while, a D300+MB-D10 grip would make much more sense. Id like to try both out but nowhere around here have either, never mind both. Also does anyone have any idea what the D300 IR performance is like? I should have the money saved up for about February/March time, are stores likely to have any in stock by then or will they still be chewing through backorders?

Have moved a few D300's on. First of all, streets ahead of the D2Xs in everything. Focuses faster, much much better ISO performance even from 400 ISO plus - stands to reason with the new 1.5 CMOS sensor.

To be honest its a class machine.

However, the D2Xs handles better as I have found the D300 battery grip to be slightly to square to handle long term. That said, its really a moot point.

If I were you, I would go for the D300 now. Its a simple decision. I hope this helps.

Pete.
