Anyone got a Manfrotto 190CXPRO4? Or a 190CXPRO3?

Yes
Just bought one of these yesterday (PRO4), but had to take it back to the shop today due to a piece of plastic that "pinged" it's way across the room last evening when I was playing with the 90 degrees quick adjust column. Turned out that the piece of plastic is part of the ovally (sorry no pics and can't describe it any better) 90 degrees quick adjust bit at the top of the legs, and seems to stop the carbon fibre centre column rubbing against the metal ovally bit when it's in the horizontal position. When the offending plastic piece is removed the centre column seems to have a wobble in the horizontal position even when the adjuster is tightened up. If the plastic piece is not removed, it (the plastic piece) just dislodges out of place anyway. (Apologies for any inadvertent double entendres here).

The shop have returned the tripod and ordered me a new one, which should arrive on Friday, but I won't be surprised if the replacement has the same problem. I'm starting to err on the side of a 190XPROB even though it's half a kilo heavier, but half the price and no plastic bit. Has anyone had the same problem?

I don't own one, nearly did read of the problem in a magazine reivew, can't remember which one though. Put me off.

I have a 190XProB and have not had any problems with it.

Anthony.

Thanks George

Surely there must be someone out there who's got the carbon fibre version? :tumbleweed:
