Yes
I'll be at the Bancroft Mill Engine Trust at 12noon ish for the Merlin Engine exhibit, then find a reasonable spot to shoot the Lancs.

Yep. I live just behind RR & hopefully they'll be almost directly overhead as they pass. Should be quite a sight .......& NOISY too!

Just up the road to Letcliffe park COULD be a good vantage point?

Yep, that's what I thought!

I'm meeting a mate who lives in Barlic and volunteers at the mill trust, they are getting a Merlin engine as an exhibit and sez they usually all go out to the park and get a good view as you can see RR works from there.

They're having a couple of RR engines on display in the town square Sat & Sun. I saw the old Nene engine there this Morning.
Fly over is around 12.40 pm so don't leave Bancroft too late. ;)

(roadworks between Burnley-Colne on M65 too)

Yeh, thanks. Went through those on Wed on way to Gisburn, hopefully they will shift the cones for weekend.
Hope to get to the town square sometime tomorrow, the 'Rohilla' exhibition is on too.

The Canadian Lancaster will not be flying at all today due to weather. Not sure about the BBMF yet. They're hoping to include today's scheduled flypasts tomorrow by departing earlier.

Gutted! Supposed to be 0935 tomorow over Barlic. Still, saw the 1 Nene engine and the Whitby Lifeboat! And had a nice snake n pigmy pie from the bakers next to the market!
Also saw the guys working hard at Bancroft mill!

They were supposed to be displaying today in northern Ireland but cancelled. Very disappointed as they were the main reason I went. Supposed to be over tomorrow again weather depending. I can't make it though.

Cheers John. (y)
(just had a great sunset & forecast for tomorrow looks promising  )

No worries. 6 hour round-trip to East Kirkby for me tomorrow to try and get 3 of them in the same shot.

I could't make it today, but have a chance in the morning now :) Think I might go for a bit of a gamble on park on the hill above Earby and hope they circle around as they are coming in from the north east and have to head off north west, so I am guessing they could either do a east to west flypast (which won't be easy with the hills, or if they do I will get them coming overhead) or they will come south and have to circle somewhere to head back north.

Jimmy, I've heard (not official) that they will be coming in from SE of Barlick. (from general direction of Cowling & Kelbrook ) so Earby might be just a tad too far for a good, nearish view?
There were hundreds of folk in Letcliffe park & up on the B6521 overlooking the valley.
Also MANY people on the bridge near RR (which gives a fairly good open view)

Today I was toying with the idea of going up to the A59 near the top of the hill, (not too far past the Cross Keys/West Marton for you) There's a truck-stop layby where you should get a great view as they come out of Barlick.

C-GVRA just taken off, so hopefully schedule is good for today.

Just flown past. Not quite as near as I'd hoped & in front of the sun, but great to see.

Yeah they weren't quite as low as I was expecting, and not one of the directions I had guessed either :) Still I think I got a few long distant shots. I went over West Marton way in the end and glad I did as I think I would have only seen their arse ends from Earby....though quite hard to tell the route they arrived from where I was.

They were a tad higher than I'd hoped too. They seemed to come in from over Skipton way! before turning.
