So happy, time to get home and see how good it is :)

How'd you do that - anywhere I looked said 4 weeks delivery!

ps lots of pages on your website are giving a not found error:

The requested URL /\"SWP.html\" was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Yeah no joy ordering on-line either. Ended up with a trip to PC-World :)

Just got lucky as they had 4 of each type in stock only :)

ther e was a queue outside apple store in bath AND the pcworld/curries..

Be interesting to see how things go over the next few weeks

Just picked one up and this is my first post from it. It is a lovely thing!!!!!!!

Good to hear others are liking. It is truly great, so many people slag apple for being locked down, etc. End of the day it does everything I need of it :)

Enjoy people

Can't resist anymore - probably order one this week.. 3 week wait mind you:(
Anyone here have the original iPad?

Im currently in the States and was hoping to get one, they all only have very limited 3G models but only if signing up for a data plan so no good for UK citizens. I ended up bagging a brand new iPad 1 instead, 64GB for just under £390. An absolute bargain I couldn't refuse and although I'd have liked the camera, I'm more than happy with the buy.

my Ipad is luuuuuurvely...

I'm fighting not to buy one with the D200 funds...

Sent from my iPhone 4 using TP Forums

I have got an iPad 1 which I bought about 8 mths ago...best thing ever. Goes everywhere with me,just love it. As for the iPad2, other half wants one so will have one of each hopefully soon.

Just to confuse matters Apple have 1st Gen refurb ones on the Apple Store - 16Gb going for £289 Inc

Only use my ipad1 for mobile portfolio, so thinner and camera not really an issue for me. And I believe screen res is the same. Are there any other improvements over the ipad1

A totally naive question here - what is an ipad for - phone or computer or editing pictures. Is it a flat laptop or something. I keep seeing them advertised and raved about but not what they are actually for.

Major use for a lot of photographers is as a portfolio

You can use it for general things in the same way as a net book etc. (apart from flash sites)

Email/Web

Book reader (similar to a Kindle)

Portable movie player

Mp3 player

Games Console

Basically it is an ultra portable version of those things combined.

I would see myself using it all the time, but cannot afford to invest at the moment as there are other things I need more.

Thanks for the explanation but don't think I need one
Email/Web - can do this at home, don't want to have to bother when out
Book reader (similar to a Kindle) - I use real books :D
Portable movie player - again, onlyh watch movies when at home
Mp3 player - not worked this out either so not required
Games Console - only play card games when computer is shutting down so not required

That's a relief, not something I want or need :D

Pay the extortionate £25 fro a small plug to add a USB port and you can connect your camera.
Shoot raw & small jpg and the small jpgs pull in quickly and you get a good impression of what you shot on a large, crisp screen. It's good for review, or even as a selling aid (I use mine in the clubhouse after rugby).

Use mine for all sorts of stuff

Games
E mail
Internet
Photos
Radio
Tv/video
Mp3 player
Book reader
And all the apps that you could ever want including the Talk Photography app which I use all the time.
Only thing it needs is flash player but not the end of the world without it.

More portable than my uber large laptop, great battery life,so what you waiting for,go get one!
I may have to go out and buy another cos other half wants one now.

A like-minded soul! Except I watch movies at the (wait for it...) cinema! And I play 2-pack patience on my old iMac when dealing with tedious phone calls. I only keep it for that.

I love my iPad1 - not bothering with the 2 as it doesn't offer enough of an upgrade for me, i'll be getting the 3 though when it comes out as it's a ground-up re-design apparently.

Just got an iPad 1 and the only thing I'm disappointed with is the time it took me to buy one!! Can't believe I waited this long as it's fantastic!!!

Same here. I looked at the Ipad2 in PC World and would have bought one if they had been in stock but had time to think about it and bought a refurbished Ipad 1 from Ebay - delivered the next day with a saving of £200 or so on the Ipad2 which has been spent on some Nikon gear (even though I love Apple stuff I love Nikon even more).
