Hi all,

I am asking this, and I know this is not a forum for such debate; but I am getting a bit desperate :'(

I am trying ever so hard to bring this under control, to limit the attacks, and their severity, so as not to get it to affect my everyday life, but all to no good.

It all started a number of years ago when I was operated on and an error got the sugeon to puncture my pancreas instead of entering my galbladder. Anyways, that was 8 years since, and I have been suffering with this ever since.

The frequency have been less, I used to get an attack on a weekly basis which would render me bedbound for a couple of days. Now, the attacks are once a month (it's taken 8 years to bring this down), but they are more severe. Of course there are a number of side effects that have manifested along the years, so any help and guidance would be very much appreciated.

Anyways, I am asking if anyone has suffered this, or knows someone who has! How did they control it!

Please, I am not looking for conventional medical treatments, since years down that path got every bit of me probed, inflated, and abused . May be something simple that I am missing?!

Try homoeopathy it worked for my 4 years olds asthma after one treatment, it also worked on my brother in laws mouth ulcers, the wife's migraines, and many other aliments in the family the lady we see is a GP and she has a private clinic for Homeopathy so she has a Dr's backup as well.

From birth my daughter suffered as a "happy wheezer" for 4 years every 2 weeks at the doctors, inhalers machines that pumped smoke into her room all sort s 4 years of sleepless nights then after one visit cured so i think it's worth a try can not promise anything but do a search in your local area for |Homoeopathy na dgive it a go

regards mark

Thank you very much. Glad to hear that this has worked on a number of ailements, I will look this up asap.

I take it you've been to see a doctor?

God, you made me laugh so hard ... I didn't think you could do that! Mind you, it's not doing me good to laugh, the pain is like knifestabs .... all your fault!

sorry, you didn't make it obvious, and I would have thought if they had known that they'd caused it, they would have given you some kind of longer term support check ups or something.

Well, I didn't want to post a lot about how this came to be; but to clarify, this didn't happen in UK! The hospital has been very supportive and financed A LOT of attempts to get this resolved. I was offered to come to UK for treatment at the hospital's expense.

The downside to all this, I've tried just about every possible treatment there is. I've since come to the point of giving up on modern day medicine since no cure was ever working. The funny things is that the proceedure which went upside down was supposed to be an "outpatient" one, I ended up 3 months in ICU and then a number of months in rehabilitation.

I guess that's a bit of the long version of all this; and this is why I am asking for none-conventional medical treatments.

Again, everytime I read your post up there I crack-up laughing! So, thank you for doing that.

Sorry, well if your looking for kind of eastern type treatments, just be careful not to get conned, there's lots around, and not all (any imo ;) ) really have any backing.

No need to be sorry, but thank you for saying that :)

Am not really looking for anything like that; as a matter of fact, I don't know what I am to look for anymore. I just want to try something different that may have worked on someone! One of the funniest things about this is that in 99% of the cases it is brought about by excessive alcohol drinking .. and I've never ever drank alcohol! Everyone, however, thinks I was an alcoholic ... especially given my wild past

Mark,

I just read about homoeopathy, and it seems there is a clinic not far from where I live. I will give them a call tomorrow. Thank you for the head's-up on this.

Good luck with the Homeopathy. It has worked well for me over a number of years for all sorts of problems. Be prepared to talk and talk and talk-possibly about all sorts of things that you don't think are relevant, also try and think about how you "feel",as a homeopathist doesn't necessarily treat the disease itself but "You" as a whole person and how you think and react is all part of the way the treatments work-2 people with the same problems won't necessarily get the same treatment. Also, don't expect to come home with a huge bottle full of pills-when I had my first remedy it consisted of 2 tiny pillules to be taken on 2 consecutive days.

Good luck.

I presume that you are drastically limiting you fat intake and also have cut alcohol out of your lifestyle as both of these are known for exacerbating the condition.

Thank you for all that information.

I have never been an advocate of pills, and gaveup on the idea of "common" medicine a long time ago. I hope this does work, though I have to say with all honesty, I remain doubtful (for no fault of this method, but rather because I've tried too many alternative medicine which didn't work).

Again, thank you for the feedback, knowing what to expect is very helpful.

About the food, not anymore! What I mean, I now eat anything and everything without thinking anymore....

... Why ; well, I was told to reduce fat and I did that. I was then told to reduce starch, and I did that too. I was told to also reduce ruffage, and I did that aswell, then it was sugar, then salt ..... you see a pattern here! I eventually ended-up living on a diet of what I started to call "Rabbit-Food". That's no way for a human to live, especially since none of this process of illimination made the issue go away. So, in retaliation to this failure I've concluded that food is not related to this issue what so ever. Please keep in mind that this diet I went on lasted years, yes years, during which I hardly ate anything that is "commonly" said to be a cause of irritation. Again, nothing that I cutout of my diet stopped the attacks, if anything, I believe things got worse since my body was surely lacking something and my mind was craving a lot!

On the flip side, my weight and BMI are well within what it should be.

As for alcohol :p, I never ever drank alcohol.

Still, thank you for the head's up on these issues. I hope, and I sincerely mean this, that it is purely something that I eat that is causing all these irritations. If that is the case, then the cure is dead-easy, I just have to stop eating that whichever it is :shake:. Nothing, in all these years, has hinted to it being brought about by the food I eat.

You're welcome. The thing about homeopathy is that getting better sort of creeps up on you and one day you think "I've just realised the such and such does/doesn't hurt/feel the same.".If you go in with an open mind it probably helps too and if it's good enough for the Queen and most of the royal family then it's good enough for us!

Sounds like a Chinese herbalist would be of some benefit to you Wail, I've read that pancreatitis causes toxic build-up in the body and they would be able to prescribe herbs for that.
You should be able to find a reputable herbalist in S Wales, Cardiff has a couple I believe.

Kiasmum,

Thank you again, I assure you I will go with an open mind. I really hope this works as my options are running thin.

Susane,

Yes, these attacks do cause my body to go to hell and back. When an attack comes, my sugar level goes all weird, that brings about nausia, back pains and eyesight issues. Then there is the enzyme problems which cause all other sort of side effects, from digestions problems to hormonal issues that cause spasems that feel like I am about to give birth! Then a fever for a couple of days. When all this goes, my body will still be weak for a while.

Luckily, these attacks are fewer now; in the "older" days they used to come every week. Once I'd just recover from the one attack the next one starts .. may be I'd get 1 or 2 days break. Thank God, that is not the case now, I can have a good 2 to 3 weeks without an attack now.

Chinese herbalist. Thank you for mentioning that; but excuse me for asking without being rude .. do you know someone who's tried this method (for this specific illness or something else) and can tell you that it has truely worked? If so, then I will concider it, but only after I give homeopathy a chance as I have an appointment to be "looked" into!

Again, thank you all for the feedbacks.

I know it has been mentioned, but a mate of mine suffers and he has found that by cutting down his intake of cheese his attacks are now virtually non existent

Dave,

Thank you for the input. How did he figure out it was cheese that he had to cut down on?

This was true of my daughter she asked us all kinds of questions about her as a person and how she was when very ill, all the doctors said was " have you a dog , cat , carpet in the bedroom ???? dust mites ????? we will have to test for allergies..... you can see how we got fed up of that.

I hope there is some relief for you i know what pain can do go on give it a try you never know.

Kind Regards Mark

Thank you Mark, THANK you BIG time :)
