Anyone been using the Panasonic FZ2000?

I have been looking at a Panasonic FZ2000 as an all in one travel camera for a back up to my main system when I don't want to carry around a bag of lenses. Prices seem to have dropped considerably to the point where it looks an attractive proposition.

What concerns me is that some reviews comment on the lens being soft (especially dpreview) so I wondered if there are any users on this site who could give me some feedback. Sometimes the reviews don't reflect real world usage and focus more on pixel peeping and lab shots.

Thanks

I have never ha done but if its predecessor is anything to go bay it should be a winner. I have the V Lux 114 and it never ceases to amaze me still; If purchasing of amazon or Ebay you could return it if it is indeed soft as you're protected from that..

Thanks for the suggestion. I had an FZ1000 a while back and liked it but several reviews say that the lens on the FZ2000 is not as sharp. I wouldn't want to run the risk of buying and then trying to return it if it is a case that the general quality is not good rather than the item being faulty.

I think current owners on DPReview are happy so it may be worth checking there. It might also be worth running a search through the 'High-end bridge camera' thread here to see if there any results from the FZ2000.

Thanks - I had posted on DPReview and, as you indicated, have had a few very useful replies. Thanks for your suggestion, I'll also look at the thread you mention on here.
