Has anyone got any tips of things to see in Austria.

I definitely have the Neuschwanstein castle on my list (the one out of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang), if I can sort out a trip.

Could really use some top tips of the very best places.

Am going to be based in St Anton and its mainly a walking holiday so am hoping for some nice views.

Once, many years ago, to Interlaken in the summertime. The Danube there is a must see, it really is (was) blue, the mountains are awesome and not to be missed either.

Schloss Neuschwanstein is actually in Germany, near Garmisch Patenkirchen. It is definitely worth a visit though. It's a very steep hike up the mountain from the car park however.

Austria is a beautiful country, my favourite place is Ischgl. During the summer, the cable cars take sightseers up the mountain... one of the highest in the Hochtirol.

Zell en Zee is a lovely mountain village, great strudel.
Saltsburg is also worth a visit.

Sorry to dissapoint but I dont drink all that much TBH.

Do they have real beer out there though? Its not that horrible fizzy stuff that pretends to be is it?

If its the real deal I might be tempted to try the local brew.

There are lots of local breweries, I think many towns have their own but it's lager beer the German way (i.e. no chemicals). It's worth trying some just for the experience, I remember some superb beers.
 
Don't forget the Sound of Music tour in Salzburg. ;)
