I'm looking for a new (to me) phone and Back Market seem to be all over my targeted ad feed. As far as I can work out, they are a broker for refurb shops so you buy through them and the order is fulfilled by (say) Smashin Mobiles of Peckham.

Trustpilot says they are either amazing or bordering on the criminal. Anybody have any experience with them? Or should I just go to CeX?

Alternatively, if you have a Galaxy S20 you are about to trade in, please tag me in the advert you post in Buy/Sell.

Debated using them in the past but decided against it.

Used music magpie instead and found them to be great. They usually have special offers on or voucher codes doing the rounds so worth a look.

I bought a phone from them.

I really liked the ethos of the site & their comms were great. However, you are at the mercy of the reseller. I thought I chose carefully, but still received a phone that wasn't as described.

The sellers complaint response was useless, but I'd also contacted Backmarket themselves because I'd lost confidence in the seller.

BM called me to discuss & after some to & fro offered me a decent discount & I kept the phone.

I presume that they vet the sellers, & they promised that my feedback would taken into account as part of that process.

I would use them again but with eyes wide open.
