Just wondered because yesterday I received an urgent email saying I need to move my domain name AND, on looking at my control panel for the first time in ages, discovered that TIF are no longer (from October!) going to be able to link to a Wordpress blog. To say that I was gobsmacked is an understatement......

My advice is usually to have your domain name separate from your hosting anyway. Who are you using for email?

I think (although I could be wrong) it goes through TIF. I had some big problems with it a couple of years ago due to some wrong settings at their end but is going well now. Typical!

TIF recommend using "Namecheap" for hosting the domain name and that is what they use themselves. So I'v gone along with that. Just waiting for the transfer to come through.

I use Namecheap as my registrar, but I have all the DNS hosted on Cloudflare, primarily as using LetsEncrypt auto renewal with Cloudflare is easy. They also have lots of addons that can be useful of you have a big popular site.

Having moved my domain name to Namecheap, it took me about two weeks to sort my emails out but everything is OK now. (fingers crossed) . I think I have an aversion to all the technobabble which goes with emails and domain names etc. It all drives me nuts!
