Yes
for 3 years now my brother and I have had a fortnight break in Spain’s Canary Islands, around February
looks like that's kaput for 2021.....:(

so plan several solo photo trips to the NW coast around Oban...but B&B prices are crazy..... :(

@latestarter....'' Time to dust the old tent down and do a bit of wild camping. ''

I still have my 2 and 4 season bags, mat, stove etc from my Vango Force 10 tent (yes the Orange ridge tent from my Chamonix-Mont-Blanc days))
so I have bought a Vango TAY200 from summits-online. Not wild-camps but campsites (at my age)

been out of the market too long....recommend me a small battery internal hanging lamp....thanks

Vango Force 10 tent

I still have mine in the loft...........It's a bit heavy to be dragged across Dartmoor these days. I think I was about 16 when I sold my soul for it and sadly I am no longer 16.
Sorry, can't help with the lamp specifically but maybe look at the sort of battery lanterns fishermen use?

we sold our touring caravan earlier this year and have now bought a 5 berth outwell tent , got most of the bits and bobs to go with it . only going to be used on camp sites though with electric hook up for the lights ,microwave ,pump up full height king sized air bed slow cooker ,toaster etc and anything else SWMBO can think of .
the caravan was to much for my old heart hope this is easier .. but its a insurance in case next years foreign holiday goes tits up .

I'd go for a decent head torch. Can be hung up if you can find somewhere for it to be hanged from...

This ^^^
4 years ago I finally caved in and got a van, up until then it was tents all the way from the age of about 8 years old (got 3 tents in the shed and 1 in the loft :D of all sizes) . And the one thing you NEED is a decent head torch. Gets you back from the pub, lets you read a book, can be carried, hung up, stuffed in a pocket and occaisionally put on your head whilst pitching the tent in the dark. The light goes where you are looking rather than looking at the light.

always had a soft spot for the orange Vango
many years ago I took a coach from Glasgow to Chamonix £99 return and camped at a local site
pitched the tent to face Mont Blanc.................a week there - good times

Vango Force 10 tent

I also have one in my garage, along with a more modern Vango and a one man Coleman tent., none of which have seen the light of day since buying a caravan 16 years ago!

I would agree with the comments about a head torch. Best bit of kit I ever bought.

You mention you have a matt. I used a Therm-a-rest mat - gave most comfortable sleep I'd experienced.

Just returned from Oban area but shared a cottage with friends - getting too old to sleep on the ground!

We've got these...

Do the Job, tend to find they work better stood on a table than hanging but not problems hanging them.

I too have an old Vango Force 10. Heavy but really strong as we found out many years ago at Edinbane on Skye when other tents were being shredded around us.

Dave

I also still have a Robert Saunders Spacepacker Plus
