:D Good stuff. Glad someone appreciates it.

I've just had a photo message of a Countach that's down there today. I'm going to drop by and see if anything interesting's happening. Apparently some of the crew have already been there a few days.

Carn't get there till sunday..working i am but again thank you..fab for what you have to pay which is b****r all.

Absolutely. Well worth the money. :D

They were filming there today. Sorry, the shots were on full auto, as I've not yet got to grips with the camera properly. Wish I had a bigger lens than the kit lens. :(

:clap::clap: hope i getto see them on sunday..all tickets now gone by the looks of it as well

Yep. Not so much a show as an exhibition really. It was alright. Some quite impressive artworks, and a few silly ones done by the boys. It was a bit regimented though, and you couldn't spend much time dwelling on the exhibits in some places.

I think 99% of the visitors were there to try and get themselves on TV, which was pretty annoying. All everyone was talking about was the programme, and people were pretty much ignoring the art on display. I don't think anyone there actually had any interest in cars apart from myself.

Worth a visit since it's free, but I would have left disappointed if I'd had to pay anything more than a couple of quid.

might have a mooch around tomorrow if the weather holds , its not looking good though

What was it all about? Shame I wasn't at home.
It's a motoring art exhibition put together by the Top Gear crew.

Ian Cook's paintings were the highlight for me. An Audi R8, and Aston DBR1, painted using radio controlled cars dipped in paint, and driven across the canvas. Really, really impressive.

Awesome. Can I have the Audi now they're done with it? Was it filmed for the series?

Yep. They were filming today, and will be tomorrow as well. There was mention of interviews with visitors, but I didn't see any of that happening. Not sure whether the Gazette just got the wrong end of the stick, perhaps.

thanks forthe heads up... just to be a part and go see is enough.will see what happens tomorrow.. did you get a chance at any otheer Pic's???? would love tosee them.

Photography wasn't allowed inside, sadly. I got a few external photos, and some with the "Bottle of Notes" sculpture, but nothing post-worthy.

Let us know what you think once you've been.

Well i am now back and yes we had a simlar experiance to you with other just wainting to be on the TV.. didn't see any interviews either. but i did like the art work.. Steven Tee's photo's where just great the one of jenson tyre was excelent.. but i did like it all. well apart from that blinking stig thing..

My brats also thought that the shark was good as did i but they siad the TV thing was "like there from the olden times" oh and that Jenson Button Huge picture made up of mag things was brill..

Again i must say thank you to you may not have been waht we thought but still it is something not many people are gonna get to see..

on a funny note someone should have told mcdonalds about it they were run off thier feet..trying to get more staff to come in ect.

Good.

Did anyone else think that the best looking cars in the "Best Looking Cars" section were in desperate need of a polishing? That Lambo was shamefully swirl-marked. :(

I work about ten minutes walk away, so I'm going to drop in again on my lunch hour this week, when it's quieter.

I'm glad it's generating a bit of interest on here. Strangely, the other forum I frequent is S2KI (S2000 owners forum), and I've posted about this on there. There has been very little interest whatsoever. It's a car forum, for crying out loud! What's wrong with people?!

Now i have just been speaking to hubby about the Best looking car's at well you are right but i still think the best one was in the middle if only that is the one you saw first as you look over towards there....

but i have to say that little car...how the **** did he get in it???????????

""stig thing" still thinking what that was about

oh and i know that before 9.40 5 people had pic's deleted and removed from site...

By "little car", do you mean the Peel P50? It was hidden behind a shroud when I visited. I only saw it because a chancer decided to move the curtain and have a look while I was stood behind him.

I'm all for driving cars, and not messing around with "detailing", but for an actual car show you'd think they would make the effort. I was surprised to see that Beemer in there, after they'd been driving it around in the car park the previous day!

yeah that one....i think useless with details..this one was the one near the steven tee pic's did you see the F1 CAr???

i was sooooooo not happy when i saw that in the building and you have to say you may have been the only one to get any pic's of them get them on the main fourm for other to see.. street togging at it best me thinks

Yes, that was the Peel P50, that Jezza has reviewed before. Real shame it was covered up when I was there. Will get a proper look at it later in the week, hopefully.

I'll do some more editing, and stick the photos up elsewhere later. There were plenty of people getting photos, but nobody had an actual camera with them. As far as I could see it was all mobile phones. I was a bit worried the crew would have stopped me, actually, for having a "proper" camera!

i would have felt the same if i was in your shoes.. but no you would have been fine the guys seemed well ok..i had a compact with me my kit was left in the car...

have a really nice relaxed time when you get back there.. i may just may have to sneak over... we will see.

"stig thing" still doing my head in

Neglected to mention the whitewashed F1 car. Actually, I was completely taken with the projection in that room. The one that was obviously filmed with a camera attached to the bumper of a car. I was captivated watching that! Made me want to go out and drive.

Was that not like being in one of those simulator (sp) things?????? i stood watching that for ages... remined me of the area of baveria (sp)

Yes! it was just like that. One of the roads looked a bit like Kirkstone Pass in the Lakes. I was left a bit disoriented by it. I felt like I was going to fall over watching it. Could have done with a chair to steady myself on.

i could have done with a seat belt as well as the chair....was very good i have to say..
