Just started doing a bit of filming a few months ago.

I've recently got a 7artisans 14mm lens and been trying it out recently. I used it out side in the sun @f8 - 2meters. Footage was good.

When I try to focus on the go and more shallower f stops - I just cant seem to get good in-focus footage/ tell I'm in focus. Tried upping the sensitivity + peak thresh (currently on 3 | 15) on my smallhd monitor and the peaking level (Mid - I leave it on low when using my 35/ 50mm lenses) on my a7sII. Its just hard to tell if I'm in focus or not.

Any tips/ tricks/ better ways to do this would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

The best way I have found to set my focus peaking is to film some footage, look at it on my editing monitor and see what is in acceptable focus. Then adjust the peaking threshold so that the area highlighted is the area that was acceptably focused. Then as you stop down you will see more a greater depth is highlighted by the peaking and anything that is peaking should be in focus.
