Any tips for using a portable lighting studio?

il join in (why not) thinking about it logically you would want the lights pretty much as pictured to light the backdrop but not end up with said object in shadow - id expect a little bit of tweaking would be in order to get it right but wouldnt be that hard.
as for camera settings/lens?
well you have 85mm - id try that first since you wont have alot of room to work with and you would need a decent length to actually get the object in the booth at a decent size.
f8 , 1/125 iso 100? to start...... thats all in my opinion.

Those lamps are 35W-50W halogen, with a fixed built-in reflector, basically those spot lights you see in shop windows. If you work in ISO 100-200 you will need a much slower shutter speed and wider aperture to achieve a meaningful exposure. Bear in mind given the power of these lamps the diffusing panels will eat up a lot of light proportional-wise.
