If you don't have a silly, juvenile sense of humour then please don't bother reading any further.
This is a completely silly, juvenile waste of time :D

And if that was enough to get rid of all the sensible people, there should only be silly, fun-loving people reading . . . and this could turn out to be good fun :D

A friend on another forum has asked for a bit of help in keeping a college prank going.

It's a different take on the kidnapped garden gnome theme - only obviously we won't be sending a chair through the post.
The idea is to shoot a chair in as many unusual locations as possible, and see how far it can travel around the country / world?.

He's explained it far better than me, so here's a direct quote from him.

"I've got this friend at uni and we've got this running joke where I steal her chair and take photos of it being most definitely not in her room. It strated off local, in the toilet, in the shower, outside different poeples rooms in our halls, then branched out to around campus, by the library, the SU and so on. Couple of weeks a go me and another friend took it on the train to Exmouth, developed the photos and made an album for her birthday. It went down a storm. Now obvisouly there is a limit to how far you can take a blue office chair in the time it takes for another firend to take her for a long afternoon coffee, so I'm putting it out there to anyone that fancys being part of this joke... =D

if you have a standard blue office chair, the time, the inclination and a slightly childish side, it would be amazing if you could take a picutre of it, absolutely anywhere, the more obscure and/or further afield the better =D

I understand this is no small feet, and dont exepct a huge uptake but any participation would be massivly appreciated heh"

There's an example of the chair below.
If you want to help out and can find a blue office chair to shoot, please post your photo in this thread so that we can all share.
The chair has its own facebook page, but if you just PM me your JPeg I can make sure that it gets to the right place.

The Chair

Oh I likes this one.

And would you believe we use very similar chairs at work.

I'll give it a bash

Well if i can find a chair i would lol, but i dont work in an office.

Well if that is a direct quote from him, I can only assume he is not studying spelling at his university

Those look like typo's more than spelling mistakes .. does it really matter?

Love the idea, wish I had a chair to join in.

Hmmmmm . . . maybe I should have edited the spelling before I quoted it
I put it down to all those beers that get consumed at uni!

Thanks to those that have responded so far. It's only a bit of fun, so slightly different office chairs are fine or you can go with Yv's PP suggestion.

If only I had a blue office chair, I'd be more than willing to help out........ but I don't :(

love it!!

I have great idea, unfortunately none of the hundreds of chairs in the office are blue

;)

Does it have to be a chair that they would believe it's their own?
We have a similar blue office style chair here, but I think the bit inbetween the seat and the backrest has a different (non corrugated) covering in it, so might not look the same....just similar.

I have a grey one and photoshop

is your friend here with us if he took a train to exmouth :p

I think he just might be David
Shall have to ask him for some more details, or you can have a look on that Facebook page to see if anything looks familiar.

I really don't think it matters if it's not an identical chair - It's just a bit of fun and nobody's going to really believe that it's actually the same chair.
The challenge is more to see how many different locations that they can get photos of.

:bonk: I just realised that the "blue" office chair I thought we had in the garage is actually grey too!
Oh well, a bit of PP or a B&W shot should fix that.

We have them lot in college... looks like im joining in on the fun :D

I have very similar blue chairs in my office, and work next to the Middlesbrough Transporter bridge. I wonder if I can get a photo with it in the background. Nice idea. I'll see what I can do. :D

b****r. I recently took an identical chair to the tip. That would have made a good 'final' picture.

Kev.

I would love to join in but I don't have a chair like that, sorry. Great idea though.
