But we can't watch it any more, the 97th Comrades Marathon, everything is pay TV today!
It is an event that in the past has unified people of different opinions, as was the original aim, so I don't think it should still carry the same name!
Reputed to be one of the most challenging long distance runs, here is the up route (it alternates each year between running from Durban to Pietermaritzburg as it is this year and the down run from Pietermaritzburg to Durban)

At 20 seconds in, there is a shot of the Pietermaritzburg City hall (start of the down run) and on the far right of the photo about half way up, there is a light that looks as if it is from my old office window
The largest red brick building in the southern hemisphere, and I think the largest pipe organ, made in England by Brindley Foster. The clock and carillon was also made her, as was the stained glass.
