A quick question. It looks like i have a split valve in my cistern and it wont flush--fills with water just fine though. Reading up it looks like its the syphon that has a split valve. Now its an old system ( Ideal Standard Jetflow ). Can i just replace the full syphon part? Are cisterns a universal type or do i need a certain type of syphon to go into the systern. Would like to give this a try myself as i love tinkering.

Try tripewriting into google the model of loo - I've done this before and it brings up all sorts of DIY tips.

Probably just the diaphragm split in the syphon. If you can get the syphon out you can make a new one with some thick polythene.
