Do we have any members who work in London and have to commute from outside of London?

Also, any members (don't necessarily have to work in London) that live around Peterborough/Northampton/commuter belt?

Dont now but 5 years ago started commuting from Cambridge for the next 2.5 years.

Used to commute from Cambridge to London - only lasted a few months then moved to the Big Smoke and been here ever since. Over 10 years now.

Used to commute into central London, but since June am mainly working from home. No more commute yay :)

I did for a few months catching a train from Huntingdon (about 5 miles from home) to Kings Cross, easy enough and fairly comfortable. Fast train was just under the hour, but very expensive, weekly ticket was approximately 100 quid, no doubt a fair bit cheaper with longer term tickets.

Both peterborough and northampton are full of Mockneys

Born and lived in the east end for forty years before moving to Cambs (St Ives) when my work moved out of London. I think you will find many of Peterborough's residents come from a bit further east than me

We live on the Beds/Herts border near Letchworth - so we can get the train into London from several stations, thankfully neither me, nor the other half, have to do it daily.

Is nice being close enough to get in easily and can stay late into the evening without worrying too much about the last train.

Towns with a train station have at least a 50% mark up on house prices because of commuter demand.

Both me and my wife commute from Cornwall to London for work. Not very near Northampton though..

2.5yrs? What did you do, walk via Scotland?
My sister commutes from Alton Hampshire. Not sure I'd want to do it, 5 minutes on a train is enough for me, glad I don't have to,
