I am considering buying a second hand lighting kit, and just wondered. When i go to look if anyone knows any problems to look out for, many thanks.
It is the

Bowens Gemini 750 Pro Twin Head Kit

There is such a thing as *too* powerful.

If you're shooting in a studio, there may be times when minimum power may not be minimum enough.

If you're shooting outdoors and trying to overpower the sun with a near-black sky and nicely exposed subjects, then go for it. :)

It's good quality kit, as long as it all works as it should then there should be no problems.
But check the flash tubes carefully, make sure that they are clear and not discoloured, which indicates that they've been used heavily. Replacement flash tubes, if needed, will cost you nearly £200 each

Thanks very much for that tip Gary. He says it 4 months old and can have it for £890 with a trigger. Yes it will be for studio work, i did wonder if it was to much power.

Is that the £1350 two-head kit with a nice big softbox and a brolly? Excellent kit, good price, buy it if it's in good nick.

It's more powerful than you probably need but you can turn it down to 23ws - five stops - which is as low as most go.

Bowens are a highly respected British brand. They will look after you if needs be. It's still under warranty isn't it?

yes so he says, he texted me after i asked the question about the blubs saying.they are like new only done 2 shoots
