Any good pic opportunities

Hi all,

In two weeks I'm off for a week to Byrness village in Northumberland. Not far from Kilder forest. Now apart from the forest can anyone recommend any where I can go to take some pics. I don't know the area at all but I do have a map to help locate any suggestions (thats why I'm asking two weeks early). Have a car so am OK to travel but don't really want to use it for more than a 1 -2 hours at a time.

Any ideas will be much appreciated

There's LOADS of photo opps where you are headed - and at this time of year, the colours should look amazing. My suggestions would be ....

.... in no particular order ....

1. Kielder Water
2. Bellingham
3. Hadrians Wall between Housteads & Steel Rigg
4. Coquet Valley
5. Housteads Roman Fort
6. Cheviot Hills
7. River Rede, Otterburn


These are all EASILY within 1 hours drive of where you are staying. 2 hours will take you right across country to the coastline and into Newcastle if you wanted shots of the bridges across the Tyne.

If I can think of anymore, off the top of my head I will post later - but a quick google on the suggestions above should keep you busy for a good few days!!!
