Just had my renewable premium through for my Flickr account which renews on the 1st Feb, and they now want £74.00 to renew (up from £41.99 last year). Sorry but that's now too much, so does anyone have any good alternatives to Flickr that still enable embedding of images into sites like this but are cheaper please ?

Some of us here have looked at Glass and I particularly like it.
I don't upload as many as I do to Flickr (not that I am limited) but there are some good photographers posting and some good interaction.

Discounted referral link if it's any use to you: https://glass.photo/referral/8NKAH6A7MO06

Further to @gramps suggestion, there is a thread on here discussing Glass

Use the “cancel my subscription” option in Flickr, the. Choose “ it’s too expensive” from the list of reasons why you want to cancel.
I did that just before Christmas and got an immediate discounted offer of 59 instead of £74.
At marginally over £1 a week, I think that’s a decent price.

I actually mailed the and told them I wasn’t going to renew at that price and would have to cancel. They immediately mailed me back and said they can do it for £51 all in. I accepted as that’s better value than £74

Well done! That's even better than the deal I got (but I didn't try that hard!). I do like the community aspect of Flickr, which would seem to be irreplaceable: it's a very sociable place, with the focus being on images rather than talk. It has such a widespread (& international) user base that in effect you can choose who you respond to, & the same in reverse - which distils the community aspect into a meaningful arena ...

Within its characteristics, it's what you make it ...

Following this thread, I have just tried to cancel my Pro membership. They came back with a counter-offer of £99 for 2 years. Fair enough!

Glass is ok if you want a little bit of interaction or Amazon photos is free unlimited storage if you're with prime with no interaction. I'm ditching Flickr this next renewal.

I've just renewed for 2 years - £86
Works out at less than £1 per week.
Just checked my renewal cost - £124 for 2 years.
I cancelled and had no offers, so end of April I'm out.

It’s all a minefield, and not just Flickr. It seems like no-one need pay full price for software if they are persistent, diligent, and just plain lucky. The makers rely on obfuscation and mental exhaustion!

Same with a lot of subscription services these days. Virgin media are a prime example.
