Hi All,

I'm learning aperture 3 by using, having converted from iphoto. I really love it and it does everything I wanted iphoto to do. But, as I read blogs and threads I see some processing tips and techniques that I would have never found on my own. I enjoy reading threads for specifics, but what I want is a good book that covers all of the aspects of aperture that I can sit down and read. I prefer books as all of the information is in one place and I know that if I read the entire book that I've got most all of the basics down. Anyone recommend one?

Thanks,
Rick

I have also been using iphoto, i have tried aperture but have not found it as easy to use as iphoto.

chrizzy,

I find it just as easy to use for the same features. For instance, importing, cataloging, rating, etc are just the same. All of the editing that iphoto allows (brightness/contrast, sharpen, color balance, saturation) are all just as easy. Aperture also has a lot of things that are just as easy once you know they are there. The brushes is one that I wanted over iphoto. Being able to selectively brush in the same effects as above is a great benefit. The presets (and how you roll over them to preview) are handy if you just want to have a quick look how something might look. The problem I have is that thre are so many more commands and functions that I have no idea what they do. I'm sure I can benefit from some of them, but I have no idea what exists to look for.

Ding,

Thanks, I'll have a look.

Thanks
Rick

Watching this with interest. I love aperture too but feel like I'm only scratching the surface.
