No
I have a tripod but that is a bit of a faff and heavy. I have seen a few people who have what basically look like sticks that they push into the floor with a thread on the other end to hold the flash. Anyone know what these are and where i can get them?

Or any other ideas of light small poles I can mount flash guns on and carry around with me, strapped to a rucksack etc.

Many thanks

Dave

If you put "light stand" in a Google Shopping search, it will give you plenty of choices... ;) A popular stand is the Manfrotto Nano (5001b), but it's not the cheapest. I believe 7dayshop are doing some really cheap ones at the moment. Like most things though you probably get what you pay for...;)

low / amateur end: £10.99 one from 7 day shop (search it on here) is good, reliable, works fine.

high end / being used every day professionally: manfrotto nano stand is £45.

Second that for Manfrotto Nano. Brilliant piece of kit. £42 at Speedgraphic.
Use them regularly, particularly outdoors, fold up really small.
