I have been a fan of the music by Enigma since their first single Sadeness,

Their latest album Seven lives Seven Faces dropped through the letterbox a few days ago and I haven't stopped playing it since.

They are not really a group as such as "they" have never appeared in video or on stage as it is really a creation by one man, Michael Cretu.

So are there any followers of the music or am I alone here.

Mrs G is up town getting her hair done so the volume is at a roof rattling setting at the moment :naughty:.

Me too, I like Enigma... it's superb mood music. I have only recently got hold of 'A Posteriori' and I like some but not all of the tracks on this album.

Michael has made a worthy living from his music and now has a custom built studio of his own in his home on Ibiza (I think).

His musical style is extremely simple, many tracks using the classic C-Am-F chord progressions (or simple variants of this sequence), but it works and has made him lots of money so I can't blame him. :)

I have a set of over 200 patches for one of my synths made up totally of sounds from his works... great fun playing Principles of Lust et al...:)

Any chance of a copy:nuts:

I reckon you must also like "Moodswings", a real band this time.

For all the other stuff I listen to, you can't beat MCMXC A.D. for moods and other themed uses!!!

Of the synth patches...?

I obviously do not know what "synth patches" are then :), I just guessed it to be a collection of sampled Enigma music edited and "patched" together to create a piece of music on one cd :)

Hehe... they are SYSEX code that, when loaded into a certain synth, change the myriad of settings within the synth to pre-determined values, thus allowing you to create/save/load your own sounds quickly.

I have a set of Enigma type sounds as patches for one of my KORGS. I haven't used these for some time come to think of it, maybe a play around this weekend might be some fun!

I used an Enigma flute/pan-pipe type sound in the middle of this track of mine. Enjoy (if you fancy a listen!)
