Ansmann Battery for 40D - Astounded

Bought one of these prior to getting my 40D and asked someone to charge it for me so it would be ready to rock when it arrived.

Anyway to the point, it is a 1400MaH model purchased from battery force and has done me for 1268 shots without a change. Probably 60 or so shots with onboard flash and after about shot 300 RAW only as opposed to RAW and large jpg. A lot have been using IS on the 24-105 as well.

Is this normal for the 40D? I thought I would only get around 600.

I am after a second battery and this sounds pretty good. Where did you get it from and how much was it?
