Sorry one more zone system thread...
Between the last two threads I've been working this out in my head, I don't have a cheat sheet like David suggested but I thought I could work one up in a spreadsheet with a view to maybe appifing it to make it a bit easier to use in "the field"
This is the spreadsheet, it takes the EV meter reading from your spot meter, your preferred aperture, ISO and the Zone you are metering from.
So for example if the dark areas were important and you wanted a dark area to be zone 3 with a meter reading of ten, you wanted to shoot at F16 and you had a 100 iso film. You'd plug this into the spread sheet and it will calculate the correct Zone 5 shutter speed to set the camera. Ideally I'd like to include reciprocal failure for specific films and adjustments for filters etc.
It's been a while since I've done any Java so this will likely be a winter project but I'd like some feedback on the calculation and concept before I spend some more time on it.
