Another New Starter from Wigan

Hi
Just signed up so I'm just saying Hi!
A couple of years ago we finally got Electricity in Wigan so I bought a DSLR. I have been messing about with it doing long shutters, macros, wildlife, motorsport... trying to get good results and failing! I'm basically into all sorts except people. Everyone I know is ugly to make bad pictures!
I hope there are a few kind people able to give me some pointers! I will no doubt be targetting the Motorsport section very soon!
